WHOIS Privacy

WHOIS privacy is a service you can add to most domain names.

The service works by replacing your contact details in the public WHOIS database with the details of our service provider, contactprivacy.com.

Anyone who wishes to contact you can fill in the form on contactprivacy.com and type their message. The email will automatically come through to you, and your email address is never disclosed to the enquirer.

Which domain names support WHOIS privacy?

WHOIS privacy is available for .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .co, .me, .tv, .cc and .tel domains.

Whilst full WHOIS privacy is not available for .uk domains, you can WHOIS opt-out, which will hide your address from the WHOIS. Opt-out is not available for certain organisation types.

Do I still own my domain name?

Yes. Your details are still recorded as the owner of the domain name. The privacy service simply omits your details from the public WHOIS database.

How do I add WHOIS privacy to my domain?

To add WHOIS privacy, register or transfer your domain to us, then login to MyAccount. You'll find the option under Domain Settings once you have selected your domain name.
